Having google opened by the side of your heat press to quickly convert the temperature settings from Celsius to Fahrenheit will not be the cause of mere annoyance. This is a highly risky move that may also cause you to accidentally heat press at the wrong temperature.
You do not need me to tell you what happens when you heat press your project at the wrong temperature. Such damage and nuisance can be avoided by simply altering the temperature unit settings of the machine.
Most models of heat press come with Celsius preset as the temperature unit. However, in a couple of simple steps, you can easily change the settings from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I have shared two methods below, so you can try either on your heat-press.
How To Change Heat Press From Celsius To Fahrenheit
With the methods shared below, you will be able to switch your heat-press setting from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
First Method
Step 1
Before you start tinkering with the keys of the heat press, you need to turn the machine on. Make sure that the platens of the heat press are closed so that you do not accidentally hurt yourself. The process is slightly different for different models of heat press. If you have a heat press machine that comes with a control panel at the front, then you need to look for the two arrow keys.
Step 2
Beneath the time and temperature settings on the control panel, you will see two arrows, an upward and a downward. Press both keys at the same time and hold them for 5 seconds. After that, you need to keep pushing the upwards pointing arrow till you see the digit 88 on the lower display screen.
Step 3
After you see 88, then press the ‘set’ button 4 times. You will see the word CF appear on the top screen, and the bottom will show you either a 1 or a 0. 1 denotes Fahrenheit, and 0 denotes Celsius. Use the arrow keys again to select the Fahrenheit option and then keep pushing the ‘set’ button 4 times, till you have returned to the main menu settings.
Second Method
Step 1
If the first method does not work on your heat-press, then do not fret, there is another option as well. Similar to the first method, you first need to turn the machine on to try to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Then press both of the arrow keys simultaneously and hold them for approximately 5 seconds.
Step 2
Lift your finger from the arrow keys when you see the alpha-numeric term ‘P1d’ on the top display, which is the temperature display. The bottom display, which is the time display will show ‘000.’ Then you need to push the button which is labeled ‘mode’. You can find it either in the middle of the arrow keys or on any side.
Step 3
When you press the mode button, the top display will now show ‘F-C’. This shows the two temperature unit options. The bottom display will show the currently selected temperature unit. If you are switching from Celsius to Fahrenheit, it will show a blinking C. You can use the arrow keys to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Then press the mode button twice, and voila! You have changed the temperature settings of your heat press. The temperature of your heat press will now be set in Fahrenheit.
Conclusion
When you are working with a heat press for the first time, you need to learn multiple settings. This includes knowing how to switch the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit. The procedures above will help you accomplish that.
